Born in Chicago into a family of musicians (her father, William “Doc” Jones, is a jazz musician and musical educator), the singer Nayo Jones has, from a very young age, cultivated her natural musical talent. She grew up listening to Jazz standards which allowed her to gain a solid musical foundation, Nayo is also a classically trained flutist.

She now lives in New Orleans, where she regularly performs with her band The Nayo Jones Experience – which we will be able to see for the first time Live at Jazz Ascona – as well as with the iconic trumpeter Kermit Ruffins and the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra led by Adonis Rose.

Her voice has been compared to the likes of Natalie Cole, Nancy Wilson, and even Whitney Houston. She has been an opening act for George Benson and Chris Botti and since 2012 she performs regularly at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, at the French Quarter Fest, and at many more festivals held in Louisiana.
